"I'm proud of you!" – a training course that helps you parent differently

In a world where the pace of life is constantly accelerating and everyday life often feels like an emotional rollercoaster – for both adults and children – more and more parents are looking for different ways to raise their kids. Ways that aren't based on shouting, punishment, or pressure, but on respect, understanding, and cooperation.

The "I'm proud of you!" training course, organized by the ULICA Foundation for Children, was created specifically for these parents. It is designed for those who want to be a real source of support for their children, rather than just a "policeman" in the chaos of home life.

The program is based on the principles of Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and the Kids’ Skills method, developed by Finnish psychiatrist and psychotherapist Dr. Ben Furman. Sounds serious? Perhaps. But this approach is surprisingly simple and intuitive – instead of focusing on what isn't working, it shows you how to recognize what is already good in a child and how to help them develop new skills. Without judgment. Without labels.

The training doesn't promise miracle methods or quick fixes. Instead, it provides concrete tools – how to talk to your child during difficult moments, how to support them in learning to manage their emotions, and how to navigate daily crises, such as divorce, school troubles, or the typical four-year-old tantrum.

It consists of 16 hours of group work, spread over three meetings in Katowice. It is led by Agnieszka Czajak and Danuta Pajor – experienced trainers and therapists who don't teach from a position of authority, but rather accompany participants with empathy and practical expertise.

All proceeds from the training go toward the statutory activities of the ULICA Foundation, which has been working for years to support children and youth in difficult life situations. The organization is supported by partners such as Neo Energy Group – companies that understand that social responsibility starts not with slogans, but with real support for families.

Is this training for everyone? No. But if you are a parent who cares about your relationship with your child and wants to parent with mindfulness rather than just for the sake of "peace and quiet," this could be a great start.
